The Bank Holiday weekend proved a highly memorable one for Rugby and the Cossar family, with notable success for brothers Mark and Tom, as well as sister Jeni.

At Worcester on Sunday, Mark Cossar and passenger Carl Blyth won the 1,000cc Midland Centre Championship, with younger brother Tom and his passenger Wayne Richards also making the grand final to finish in fourth place.

Jeni Cossar got in on the act in fine style on Monday as passenger to Scott Dunn, winning the 500cc East Anglian Spring Trophy Meeting in Chelmsford, whilst again, Mark Cossar won the 1,000cc event – and Tom Cossar took another eye-catching fourth place – this time partnered by Rugby’s Gareth Williams.

Despite focusing on the considerable new responsibility of becoming a father during the close season, Mark Cossar looked every inch the rider who has captured four British Masters titles, whilst for younger brother Tom and sister Jeni, who have both had enforced spells out of the sport due to injury, they showed what undoubtedly strong racing talent there is in the Cossar dynasty.

The Cossars will be out in force for the just announced sidecar meeting at Brandon on Friday, June 3.
