BOWLS: New president takes over at Warwickshire County AGM

Warwickshire County Geoff Moran welcomed the delegates to Warwickshire County Bowls Association’s AGM on Saturday 9th November at Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club and invited them to stand in memory of bowlers lost during the year.

Geoff handed over the chain of office to the incoming president Clive Faulkner (Norgren BC). Three Spires’ Michael Jackson was re-elected as Treasurer and Secretary. Peter Vale Humphreys (Wellesbourne) moved from Junior Vice President to Senior Vice President with Nigel Hewitson (Rugby) completing the presidential team as Junior Vice President. The following officers were all re-elected, Mal Evans (County Coach), Mike Hall (Match Secretary), Alan Jackson (Publicity) and Idris Elms (Greens). Martin Timms (Welford) was elected as Competition Secretary. The Birmingham Area is represented by John Bentien (Solihull Municipal) and Paul Finch (Kings Heath). Boris Boulstridge (Nuneaton) represents Coventry, with one vacancy.

Rugby has John Slater and Tom Duggins (both Thornfield) as its representatives. Roger Powell (Bidford) is the South Warwickshire Area Rep with two vacancy. Andy Smith (Avenue Leamington) was awarded life membership for his service to the county both on the green and as Junior Team Manager.
