Warwickshire’s third visit to Rugby School
Cricket fans will be keeping their fingers crossed for fine weather on Monday, when Warwickshire County Cricket Club returns to Rugby School for the third year in a crucial match in the Royal London One Day Cup, against Sussex Sharks.
With the match starting at 10.30am, the day is set to have an exciting array of activities, with spectators having the chance to have a photo with the Royal London One-Day Cup trophy, which is visiting as part of a nationwide tour of 18 counties.
Tickets can be booked at Rugby Visitor Centre, at www.edgbaston.com or by calling the club’s Ticket Hotline on 0844 847 1902.
Those wishing to use tickets from last year’s rained-off match just need to get in touch with the club by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the shop on 0844 635 1902 to arrange for the ticket to be swapped over for Monday’s game.
Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director at Edgbaston, said: “In order to give greater peace of mind to spectators we have introduced a full refund policy for this year’s match at Rugby School, in case the weather intervenes.
“However, we’re hopeful that conditions will be similar to the glorious sunshine that we saw in our first visit in 2013 and provide a great day out for our members and supporters.
“The annual match in Rugby is something that the playing squad and staff look forward to. Not only does it enables us to reach supporters in the wider county, but play at another fantastic venue.”
The day will also host the Royal London Gilbert Cup tournament, which sees two Under 11 boys’ and girls’ teams take part in an eight-a-side soft ball game at each county.
Should the Bears reach the final on Saturday, September 19, the winning teams from Rugby School will be invited to compete in their own final.
