CYCLING: Mick Ives' team finding extra ways to train
Going nowhere...cyclist keeps up fitness on rollers
Despite the suspension of all sporting activities, for members of Mick Ives’ elite cycle race team there is no let up.
In a strong message from the Team Jewson-MI Racing-Polypipe-McCann-7formation owner he has asked them to continue best they can with their training and general fitness programmes, in readiness for when their season is back on, with the aim of continuing where they left off.
Recent winner of round one of the Midland Mountain Bike series Kirby Bennett, is just one example, setting up his cycle to work out on the rollers. Bennett, a former national champion , pushed the current national champion into second place at their last meeting and hopes to be able to contest the championship again this season, with the aim of regaining his title,
The team won a total of 28 British championships last season, more than any other UK team.
