Pictures by Mike Baker

A strong first half for Rugby & East Warwickshire’s Men’s 1st XI saw goals to Man of the Match Andy Walker, Tom Robson and Adam Hewitt.

Rugby were able to hold on for the 3-1 win with good saves from Danny Bell. Good work from the midfield helped Rugby hem Bridgnorth into their own half for most of the game.

The Men’s 2nd 1 beat Khalsa Leamington 2nd 1-0. A great defensive effort saw Connor Robson find his first clean sheet of the season as Man of the Match Tristan Euridge’s reactions saw him capitalise on a loose ball for the only goal of the game.

A few good passages of play saw Rugby Men’s 3rd XI score a well worked team goal against Nottingham Trent University 1sts, converted by Owen Armstrong.

A strong student side came hard and fast for the duration of the game and despite good team defensive work Rugby were unable to hold the students back, going down 12-1. Man of the match went to George Spraget.

REWHC Men’s 5th beat Ashby 3rd 6-0 with a great team performance which brought goals for Thomas Watkins, Jack Crinnigan and Tom Scott-Brown. Rugby dominated possession and were it not for the goalposts they could have had a few more.

A goal in each half saw Rugby 6ths maintain control over Atherstone Adders 3rds through Man of the Match Tom Hollis, whilst goals came to Jamie Carr, chipping a diving keeper, and Will Antrobus finishing a great strike in the D in the 2-0 victory.

Despite being down by three goals early on in the second half, Rugby Ladies 1sts kept going and were unfortunate not to complete the comeback against Boots.

Kirby Harris converted a one on one against the keeper and player of the match Lilla Gane collected a rebound in front of goal for Rugby’s second goal in the 3-2 defeat.

REWHC Ladies 3rd beat Warwick University 3rd 7-0.A strong showing for Rugby saw goals to Regan Walker (2), Nadine Bell (2), Emily, Julia Bower and Neve as Rugby passed the ball well with the midfield linking up with the forwards. Player of the match was Jess E.

REWHC Ladies 4th were beaten 3-1 by Olton 6th. A Jackie Adlum penalty corner strike saw Rugby keep the scores level in the first half but Olton scored from two breakaways. Player of the match went to Hazel Fairtlough.

REWHC Mixed beat Barford Tigers 3-0 in round 3 of the tier 2 mixed cup. A very tight first half saw neither team score but a strong second half for Rugby saw goals to Richard Cook, Charlie Woolliscroft and Tom Robson whilst Man of the Match went to Matt Westbury for several saves to maintain a clean sheet.
