REWHC Men’s 1st 2 (12)

Banbury 1st 2 (11)

A great performance from Rugby in the men’s cup saw two penalty corner goals for Chris Harding in the first half before Banbury levelled in the second.

With the game tied at the end of play it required penalty flicks to determine who would progress to the next round of the competition.

After 13 flicks taken by Adam Hewitt, Rich Major, Ollie Dear, Luke Armstrong and Tom Robson, a second flick saved by Man of the Match Connor Robson sealed the win for Rugby.

REWHC Men’s 2nd 2 Stone 1st 3

Goals to Alex Hammant and a great deflection to Jan de Klerk saw Rugby go ahead of Stone early on but were not able to hold on to the lead late into the game as Man of the Match Connor made some great saves.

REWHC Men’s 3rd 2 North Notts 1st 6

Two excellent goals to Thomas Palmer saw Rugby well in the game going into the second half, but a couple of unfortunate injuries saw Rugby slow down and let North Notts through towards the end.

Man of the Match went to Paul Nicholson for a great midfield performance.

REWHC Men’s 5th 3 Warwick University 4th 0

Two goals to Tom Watkins as well as a Giles Morrison penalty corner strike saw Rugby stay ahead of the students thanks to Man of the Match Chris Dickinson’s save off the goal line.

Goals to Man of the Match Jared Fox, Richard Hardy, Ed Thomas, Charlie Darbyshire, Will Antrobus and Nick Dowling saw Rugby put in a dominant four- goal second half for a convincing win.

REHWC Ladies 1st 1 Loughborough Uni 2nd 1

An early goal from Kirby Harris saw Rugby go ahead against a strong student side, who managed to score their equaliser just before the half time whistle.

A great defensive performance saw Rugby absorb the pressure from the students with some key saves from Player of the Match Emma Olifent to keep the match scores level.

REWHC Ladies 2nd 1 Warwick University 1st 4

Despite a goal to Grace Calder and a strong battle from the first minute to the last, Rugby fell to a strong student side.
