In a mixed bag of results this week, there was success for the Ladies’ 1sts who beat Birmingham University 5-2.

A hat-trick for player of the match Nicki Siarbawa as well as goals to Kirby Harris and Stacey Keeley saw Rugby stay ahead of a young Uni side with strong play throughout.

The Ladies 2nds lost 2-1 to Solihull Blossomfield 1st.

A successfully taken flick from Jess Naylor along with several key saves from player of the match Gracie Gerrard in goal was not enough to pull out a result against a strong Solihull side, narrowly missing out on a last minute chance to equalise.

The Men’s 1sts were beaten 3-0 by Hampton-in-Arden 1st in a tough game. Man of the Match went to Danny Bell in goal for some great saves in the second half to keep the score line respectable.

The Men’s 2nds went down 6-3 to Coventry& North Warwick 1st, despite goals to Gaz Unett, Euan Walker and Tom Smith in a hard fought game.

Man of the Match went to Dave Renard for great play throughout and being unlucky to have a goal disallowed.

REWHC Men’s 3rds beat Warwick 2nds 3-2. Goals to Man of the match Alex Salter, Joe Manning and Harry Kirkbride saw Rugby hold on in a close game at Rugby School.

The Men’s 4th were edged out 1-0 by Loughborough Town 4th in a tight game.

Man of the Match Freddie Taylor made some key saves to keep the score level until the dying minutes.

Rugby 5ths couldn’t overcome a slow start against Warwick 4ths and were beaten 2-0. Man of the Match went to Paul Mourant for some key defensive tackles.

The lone goal to Man of the Match Will saw Rugby 6ths hold on for a professional win after a tough game away to Nuneaton 2nds.

On Sunday REWHC Mixed XI beat Edgbaston Mixed 10-4.

A Tom Robson hat trick, as well as two goals to Jack Fisher and one each to Lilla Gane, Emma Allroggen, Richard Cook, Richard Major and Chris Harding saw Rugby power through to make it to the next round of the Mixed cup.

Rugby & East Warwickshire hockey teams have been able to roll out new home and away kit across the whole senior club and are very grateful to Widem Logistics and Managing Director Russell Green for their generous donation.
