Medals at Scottish National and Age Group championships

Rugby Synchronised Swimming Club travelled to Drumchappel to compete in the Scottish National and Age Group championships.

Swimming against a field of 14 other teams drawn from across Scotland and England, Rugby came away with a clutch of medals.

The youngest girls, the 12 and under Free Team (Sarah Twist, Charlotte Twist, Foteini Kalkani, Maisie Grinter, Emily Dakin, Cassie Reed, Lili Carroll and Georgia Lindsay), were awarded bronze. This feat was then matched by the 13/14/15 Free Team (Dani Medgett, Elise Richardson, Nayana Walker, Hannah Linden, Amelia Quinn, Holly Tonks, Eleanor Garrard, Freya Thomas, Izzy Ogg and Abby Huett).

A hat-trick of bronzes was then completed by the Junior Free Team (Gemma Broad, Emilia Walker, Emily Durkin, Meredith Whiting, Rhia Perks, Rebecca Wilkinson and Grace Huett) who were only a fraction of a point away from Silver.

Gemma Broad gained silver in both the Senior Free Solo and the Senior Technical Solo. As a Scottish swimmer, Gemma also won Gold in the Junior Solo, Junior Figures and Senior Solo.

After a long journey home, the club now looks forward confidently to the highlight of the synchro calendar – the UK National Age Groups, to be held at Gloucester during the first weekend in December.
