Rugy Triathlon Club
It’s been a stellar time for Rugby Triathlon club members.
Top of the pile was Ali Moult, who travelled to Spain to compete in her first ever European Duathlon championships.
It was also Ali’s first ever time representing Great Britain. She was competing in the standard distance duathlon - a 10km run, 40km bike, 5km run.
The event was held in horrendous weather, strong winds and torrential rain, Ali was in a class of her own, not only winning her age group but also winning the event overall, in a superb effort to be crowned European champion.
# Also competing was Andrew Boon, who had a great debut, coming 25th in his age group.
Mike Smallwood finished 5th in his age group, while Tamara Hardman was 4th in her age group. Superb performances showing Rugby Triathlon Club can compete at European level.
# Hywel Davies showed what a legend he is, competing in the London Marathon. Hywel recorded a personal best of 2hrs 30mins and 7 seconds, with a stunning run to come 56th overall.
Paul Meigh showed the benefits of a winter training with the Tri Club, to record a debut 3hrs 22mins, a great run.
Adrian Sarkies and Sally Baker competed in the Stratford marathon. Adrian recorded a PB of 3hrs 17mins, with Sally clocking 3hrs 7mins to claim 3rd lady overall.
Neil Whitford travelled to Lichfield to race the BRAT triathlon, which is a 400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run event. Neil recorded a great early season time of 1hr 8mins which bodes well for the rest of the year.
