POOL: Warwickshire Seniors off to nationals

Warwickshire Seniors ‘A’ team have topped Region 5 to qualify for the national finals in Great Yarmouth at the beginning of March.

Roger Hunt and Mark Zatonski will also be competing in the Seniors England Trials.

In Region 5 Warwickshire were competing against Northamptonshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire.

And in the inter county finals they will be among 16 teams going head to head for the seniors national team trophy and prize money.

Mark has trialled twice before and Roger was in the England tea from 2008 to 2014, winning the world championship once, European Championship twice and European singles once.

Dave Collins played for England in the 2009 team which won the world championships.

Captain Roger Hunt said: “We have a good team spirit in the team and I am looking forward to the challenge - my whole team are. I was captain of the team that reached the final in 2012 when we were beaten by a Dorset team led by a legend of pool Keith Brewer.”
