Runners of Rugby dust off your trainers and don your lycra for the 5th annual Rugby Ready Steady Run being held on Sunday 19th May, 11:00am.

This popular 5K event was the brainchild of local running coaches Ruth Waugh and Kay Shaw who staged the first race back in 2009 as the target event for their beginners Ladies Running Group and it has grown in popularity year on year attracting both fun and seasoned
runners and not just the ladies!

Organised under the umbrella of the highly successful Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club the Ready Steady Fun Run 5K is a one lap course starting and finishing at the Rugby Athletics track. All finishers receive a medal and goody bag. Trophies will be awarded to the top three men, women and junior athletes (U18s).

Younger children are not left out with taster athletics activities and races on the track being organised for all U12’s and a special toddlers race. Entry for all children’s races £1 on the day.

Runners are encouraged to bring along supporters. There’s plenty to keep them entertained with Rugby FM’s Jason Moss commentating throughout the race, body fat testing, face painting, a variety of stalls, refreshments and face painting.

Sports massage will also be available on the day to relieve those aching muscles courtesy of lead sponsor Peak Performance.

By taking part you will be supporting local charity Rugby Young Carers Project who work with children and young people 6-18 who
take care for a family member who is ill, has a disability or experiencing mental distress.

The proceeds from entry fees will contribute towards taking the young people on a much deserved two day activity break.

Entry fees are £8.50 before the end of April then rising to £10. Entries will be accepted on the day at a cost of £10. To enter follow the link at .
