There’s a fantastic selection of home games for rugby fans this weekend, including two top-of-the-table clashes, all kicking off at 3pm.

In Midlands 1 East, third-placed Newbold welcome league leaders Bedford Athletic to Parkfield Road, while Old Laurentians have a chance of climbing off the bottom at last when eighth-placed Wellingborough are the visitors to Fenley Field.

Rugby Lions have taken over top spot in Midlands 3 West (South) after their 15-6 win away at Old Coventrians.

Now three points ahead, Lions host second-placed Southam at Webb Ellis Road in another crucial game.

Rugby St Andrews were without a game on Saturday, but are back in action hosting local rivals Daventry at John Tomalin Way. Saints are sixth in Midlands 3 East (South) and Daventry ninth.

A fantastic result for Rugby Welsh, playing their best rugby in ages, saw them beat leaders Five Ways Old Edwardians 27-19 away from home last week.

Welsh are now just two points behind Old Eds in Midlands 5 West (South), but have played an extra game.
