Great day out at Tigers
A group of youngsters from Crescent School joined a capacity 24,000 crowd for the Aviva Premiership match between Leicester Tigers and Harlequins at Welford Road on Saturday and joined a half-time lap of honour, as well as having their photograph taken with Tigers first-teamer Rob Hawkins.
Teacher Matt Phillips accompanied the group and said: “It was a great day. We’ve got quite a lot of pupils who play club rugby and we play tag rugby at school so there is a lot of interest in the sport.
“It’s the first time we’ve done something like this but we are looking to have more of an extra-curricular programme of activities from school so this was a great opportunity and we are looking to do it again.”
