Clean sweep of wins - and Saints beat league leaders

What a weekend for rugby in Rugby!

Rugby St Andrews pulled off a brilliant win over league leaders Rushden & Higham, 29-22, at John Tomalin Way. Saints stay third in Midlands 3 East (South) on 50 points, but close the gap on Rushden & Higham who have 56. Second-placed Vipers, who have 51 points, won 3-8 away at Northampton BBOB.

And it was an exciting weekend in Midlands 2 West (South) with wins for both leaders Old Laurentians and second placed Newbold, who gained revenge over the only side to beat them in the league so far this season.

At Fenley Field OLs beat bottom placed Old Leamingtonians 31-0 and Newbold won 61-3 against third-placed Banbury. The results keep the two Rugby sides level on 66 points at the top of the table, with Banbury 14 points behind on 52.

And Rugby Lions kept up their winning streak with 13 out of 13 at the top of Midlands 4 West (South). They won 59-3 at sixth-placed Redditch. Lions are now 15 points clear of Evesham and Claverdon in the the table, with 59 points to their 42.

Rugby Welsh were without a game in Midlands 5 West (South) but resume their campaign in fifth place this weekend against sixth placed Trinity Guild.
