Wins for town’s two top sides

Improving Old Laurentians notched up a very welcome second league win of the season against Paviors. Struggling OLs beat their eighth-placed visitors 24-23.

Newbold beat Bugbrooke 32-7 on Saturday

Newbold beat Bugbrooke 32-7 on Saturday

Third-placed Newbold also had a good day, winning 32-7 at Parkfield Road against ninth-placed Bugbrooke.

The only other first team in action were Rugby Welsh, who took on Old Laurentians 3rds in a friendly, winning 24-0.

Rugby Lions had a walkover in their cup game, after Stockwood Park were unable to raise a side.

Rugby St Andrews also had a week off from competitive action.
