Rugby Lions won their Warwickshire Shield final at Leamington RFC yesterday (Sunday) beating Southam 28-17.

Lions started as underdogs against a side in the division above, but triumphed against a quality Southam team.

Old Laurentians were the only team in league action on an otherwise free weekend, playing their game at Old Yardleians postponed from last week.

They won 48-8, securing the bonus-point needed to return to top spot in Midlands 2 West (South), level on 71 points with Newbold. Banbury in third spot are on 57 points.
