No electricity in clubhouse so new venue being arranged

Former chairman David Owen is holding a meeting - open to anyone interested - to give details of the situation and what the way forward may be.

He had arranged it for Tuesday evening (August 28) but as there is no electricity in the clubhouse and the electricty company cannot guarantee how soon it will be reconnected, the meeting will now be on Thursday, August 30.

An alternative venue is being sought, so please keep checking this website tomorrow and as soon as we have details they will be posted.

The meeting follows Rugby Lions being thrown out of the league for next season, after they failed to meet the RFU’s deadline to repay all rugby-related debts owed by the company Mike Aland set up to run the club.

Although Mr Aland took over the club last year, we believe the purchase from owner David Owen had not been completed.

Mr Aland has not been speaking to the Advertiser in recent weeks to explain the situation.
