Taste of rugby for ladies and minis

Newbold held their first ever ‘Fun Day’ at the weekend, which was aimed at introducing the local community to a taste of rugby for ladies and minis.

Over 500 people visited Parkfield Road over the course of the day, including The Mayor & Mayoress of Rugby, Councillor Ramesh Srivastava and his wife Manju Srivastava. Visitors got a chance to watch the minis and junior sides having fun when being coached by a senior RFU official.

The event included a number of stalls, bungee runs and obstacle course along with face painting and cake stalls to raise funds for the club and Warwickshire Air ambulance. Newbold took the opportunity to stage the event after Rugby Borough Council provided much appreciated funds to raise awareness of local sports clubs in Rugby. Newbold are now able to offer rugby to all age groups and ladies.

If you are interested in coming along or have a child that would like to join in the fun in a structured environment, please contact the club through their website or contact Alan Bale on 07785 712443. Minis and ladies generally train on a Sunday, you would be very welcome.
