Mini games and then guided tour of stadium while England played in Dublin

Last Sunday saw the bi-annual visit of Rugby St Andrews RFC Under 8s and Under 9s to Twickenham RFC. An early start to the coach trip saw 70 players, parents, supporters and even the Deputy Mayor of Rugby Cllr Richard Dodd make the journey to South West London.

Our squads played several round-robin fixtures against their hosts and acquitted themselves well in all departments despite the windy conditions. An excellent post-match meal was laid on for our teams followed by speeches from chairman John Parsons and the deputy mayor.

This was followed by a trip to Twickenham Stadium. Luckily England were playing away in Dublin, so Saints had the place to themselves for a guided tour of the stands, changing rooms, hospitality suites and museum.

A great day was had by all. Roll on the next trip in 2017.
