RUGBY: Rugby fans spoilt for choice with four home fixtures

Old Laurentians and Newbold continue title battle at top of table

Neutral rugby fans have a feast of four home fixtures this weekend, as the sides resume their league campaigns.

Leaders Old Laurentians and second-placed Newbold, who are level on points at the top of Midlands 2 West (South) both have home games.

OLs host fourth-placed Pinley at Fenley Field, while at Parkfield Road, Newbold welcome struggling Leamington, who are third from bottom.

OLs and Newbold are 14 points clear at the top of the table, with Banbury in third spot.

Over at John Tomalin Way in Ashlawn Road, Stockwood Park are the visitors to Rugby St Andrews for a Midlands 3 East (South) fixture.

Saints are currently third in the league, just six points behind leaders Rushden & Higham and Vipers, who are level on points. Stockwood Park are in fifth spot.

At Webb Ellis Road, fresh from their Warwickshire Shield victory on Sunday, Midlands 4 West (South)leaders Rugby Lions hope to maintain their 100 per cent record against fifth-placed Stoke Old Boys.

And Rugby Welsh are on their travels, with a Midlands 5 West (South)mid-table clash at Wellesbourne.
