RUGBY Lion’s U12s reached the semi-finals of the 2011 Twickenham Sevens.

The U12s finished their successful season with an invitation to compete in the annual Twickenham Sevens.

This tournament attracts a strong entry from clubs across the south of England with both Saracens and Brighton sending particularly strong squads.

As ever, the Lions were committed and aggressive and not shy of taking the game to the opposition.

In several of their pool matches they ran in a series of quick tries with dogged defence limiting the opposition’s ability to respond.

Topping their pool in the early rounds, Lions progressed into the play offs.

Despite a good showing, in the end Brighton proved too strong and the season ended in the semi-finals.

Once again they proved they are a strong group of players, unafraid to pit themselves against good sides and deserving of the great improvement they have shown over the past season.
