Lions, Newbold and Welsh games survive the weather
After all the rain left the main pitch at Webb Ellis Road with too much standing water, Rugby Lions managed to switch their game to their second team pitch and beat Trinity Guild 66-0.
It opens up a gap of 15 points at the top of Midlands 5 West (South), although none of the other teams played.
Rugby Welsh were without a league game, but won their friendly against Old Leamingtians 3rds 20-17.
At Parkfield Road, Newbold won their Midlands 2 East (South) game against Northampton Old Scouts 29-5. Newbold stay second in the table, although they are now 13 points behind leaders Leighton Buzzard.
Old Laurentians’ home game in Midlands 1 West against Market Bosworth was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
