Could you give Advertiser readers great coverage with match reports and club news?

Would you like to be our new Rugby Lions correspondent?

Alistair Bruten, who has done a fantastic job for us since 2000, has decided to retire from the role so we are looking for a new reporter to keep Advertiser readers informed with lively match reports, previews and club news.

If you have ever fancied being a sports writer, enjoy watching rugby and have a good knowledge of the game, why not think about it?

You will need to follow Lions in all their league and cup games home and away - and develop good contacts with the club coaches, officials and players to provide the best possible coverage.

Incredibly, in over 14 years, Alistair never missed a single match and we are extremely grateful for all his dedication and hard work. We hope our new correspondent is just as reliable!

Lions begin their Midlands 4 West (South) season with a home game against Coventry Welsh on September 13. And after last season’s successes, which saw them promoted as unbeaten league champions and reach the national final of the RFU Junior Vase at Twickenham, it’s an exciting time at Webb Ellis Road.
