Rugby St. Andrews RFC have become the first club in Rugby and one of only a few in Warwickshire to be awarded ‘Accreditation’ by the RFU.
The honour follows hard work within the club to establish what it is doing, how it does it and where it can improve.
The plaque was presented to the club in front of guests from Long Buckby and club members prior to the game on Saturday.
Danny Tolfts, a senior club member and past president of Warwickshire RFU, welcomed Mike Hemming , senior Vice President of Warwickshire RFU, who presented the plaque to the club.
Accreditation recognises a strong sustainable club which will provide all that’s good in Rugby Union whilst being at the heart of the local community.
Accreditation brings with it the Sport England Clubmark for the mini and youth sections. It gives the club credibility with local authorities and educational establishments whilst confirming the status of the RFU brand to potential sponsors.
