Rugby Welsh 27 Cov Tech 5
After suffering another narrow defeat against Copeswood Welsh returned to league action against Cov Tech. Unfortunately the Coventry side experienced a number of withdrawals and Welsh were awarded the league points as the game was played as a friendly with veterans Roly Robinson and Phil Tipping amongst those helping the opposition to even out the sides.
Welsh began well and dominated the opening exchanges but were unable to breach the very experienced opposition due to both decision making and sound defence. Eventually Welsh took the lead with a try through their forwards following a lineout. Chris King was at the forefront of the action and he deservedly completed a move involving forwards and backs which Wilson converted.
The second half saw Welsh generally dominate but credit must go to the makeshift Tech side who competed well throughout. Welsh completed their victory with two further tries through Roche, who put in a number of forceful tackles in the second row and Taylor, although Tech deservedly scored a late try.
This week Welsh travel to Keresley in Coventry in another league fixture.
