Newbold and Old Laurentians both had Midlands 1 East games postponed. Third placed Newbold were due to visit 13th-placed Matlock. This week they host another side from the lower reaches of the division, Newark.

Bottom club OLs’ game at fourth-placed Kettering was also postponed. This weekend 11th-placed Market Rasen & Louth are the visitors to Fenley Field.

There was action at Webb Ellis Road, with Lions beating Old Leamingtonians 31-0 in Midlands 3 West (South). Lions are fourth in the division and Old Leams seventh. The top of the table is still very tight, with Old Coventrians on 50 points, Ledbury (who were beaten 24-0 by Southam on Saturday) second on 48, Evesham third on 48, Lions with 46 and Southam fifth on 43.

Woodrush’s game with Evesham was postponed.

This weekend Lions are away at Old Wheatleyans, who are currently sixth.

Rugby St Andrews hosted league leaders Oundle and were disappointed to go down 28-10 in what was a much closer game than the score suggests. Second placed Long Buckby were beaten 13-9 by Daventry and all but two of the top seven sides lost. Saints stay sixth and host third-placed Stockwood Park this weekend.

Rugby Welsh’s trip to Midlands 5 West (South) leaders Five Ways Old Edwardians was postponed. Fourth-placed Welsh host second-placed Keresley this weekend.
