It was a great weekend for all Rugby’s first teams, with league victories all round.

In Midlands 1 East, leaders Newbold beat fifth-placed Bugbrooke 20-3 at Parkfield Road. Newbold are six points clear at the top, ahead of nearest rivals Old Northamptonians.

This weekend (November 26) they travel to bottom side Dronfield, who are still looking for their first win.

After a slow start to the game at Webb Ellis Road, Rugby Lions maintained their top spot in Midlands 2 West (South) with a 34-15 win over Southam, who are sixth. Lions are now six points ahead of second-placed Silhillians.

This weekend they are away at Barkers Butts, who are down in tenth.

Another good win has lifted Old Laurentians up to third in Midlands 2 East (South). On Saturday they beat Market Harborough 27-22 at Fenley Field.

Peterborough head the division on 31 points, with Oundle second on 29 and OLs on 27. Harborough are eighth.

This Saturday sees OLs visiting fourth-placed Oadby Wyggestonians.

Rugby St Andrews beat Upton on Severn 24-17 at John Tomalin Way. Saints are now eighth in Midlands 3 West (South) and Upton 11th.

Saints are on the road this Saturday, with a trip to Bedworth, who are currently bottom of the table.

Rugby Welsh were without a league game in Midlands 5 West (South) but this weekend are at home at Alwyn Road to Trinity Guild. Welsh are sixth in the table so far, just one place below Trinity Guild.
