Shephard leads way across land and water to win the Southam Triathlon
Spa Strider Richard Shephard was the clear winner of the Southam Triathlon.
Shephard clocked a time of 55min 31 sec over the 400m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run to finish ahead of Kenilworth Runner Richard Simkiss.
Simkiss, a triathlon rookie, had suffered a crash in the transition between the bike and running leg but recovered sufficiently to clock 57:54, which was two minutes faster than last year’s winning time.
