Sunday’s semi-final line-ups

C.R.C. made the semi-finals of the Division 1 Cup with a 3–1 victory against Prime Time. Prime Time went a goal up in the 7th minute but C.R.C. hit back in the 25th minute to make it all-square. After the break two goals in 4 mins put C.R.C. firmly in control. It was also the first time that there were three generations playing for C.R.C. and it was the youngest, Kyle Dawes. who scored a hat-trick.

The Prince of Wales can’t reach the semis but put in a fine display to beat The Webb 6–1. Slawomir Bigot hit a brace, while Daniel Bevans, Miguel Del Coppal, Peter Gordon and Lee Hersey added singles. The Barley only had ten men against Yelvertoft but led at the break 3–0.

In the second half Toft put in a spirited fight-back and had made it 3-2 at the finish.

Toft will have to be better than this to beat Quigley’s in Sunday’s semi. David Rawes and Dan Jarvis got the Toft goals.

Lawford led 2–0 against The Bell but in the second period the Bell got on top and ran out 4–2 winners. Lawford also play in the semis on Sunday and will have to improve if they want to beat their second division opponents, Webb Ellis Utd.

In the Division 3 Cup the Bull made the semis with a 5–2 win against P. O. Wales Reserves. Jeremy Kitson hit 4 and Martin Ellson added a single.

St Thomas Cross made the semis with a 4-3 win against J. Rotoractors. David Stoker hit a brace while Joe Domini and Khillen Gohil added singles.

This coming weekend sees the major cup semi-finals take place. The Hospital Cup is at Alwyn Road and the Advertiser Cup at Ashlawn Road.

The Division 3 Cup final will be held on Friday April 27 at Alwyn Road (kick-off 6pm) and the Division 1 Cup final will be on Sunday April 29, also at Alwyn Road (kick-off 11am).
