As the name suggests, the members of Bilton Pantomummers are more likely to be found performing pantomimes than musicals.
But they are about to take their first steps into musical theatre with their Night at the Musicals extravaganza.
The show will feature songs and dances from a wide variety of musicals, performed by a 20-strong cast aged eight upwards.
Producer Catherine Bowering said: “Although the group has made its name performing pantomimes, musical theatre is something completely new for us.
“There are many of our members who are extremely talented singers and dancers and we wanted to give them chance to shine.
“Our Night at the Musicals will show the incredible talent in the area and provide an evening of entertainment, featuring songs and dances ranging from the classics to some of the latest hits, so there is guaranteed to be one of your favourites.
“In recent years, the group has taken on a number of new challenges, notably when we performed Shakespeare on the RSC’s open-air stage in Stratford last summer, and it would be great to have another large audience to support us for this latest adventure.”
A Night at the Musicals with Bilton Pantomummers will be performed on Saturday, August 22 in the Kay Hall at Bilton School, Lawford Lane, at 3pm and 7pm. The group will be fundraising for Parkinsons UK during the shows. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children. They are available from Bilton Post Office, Dudley Taylor Pharmacy in Bilton and Woodlands Post Office and from email@example.com
