An unsigned Rugby act may be the youngest rock band to ever play at the LG Arena.
Tan.Trum join Lawson and Union J at the UK’s only under-18s music festival, OMG Live.
OMG Live the UK’s first under-18’s music festival arrives this Easter in Birmingham.
Rugby’s Tan.Trum certainly fit the audience profile, qualifying as one of the youngest ever rock acts to appear at the LG Arena. The band, whose youngest member is only 10, will be appearing in their biggest ever gig joining top-ten chart names like Lawson, Union J and FUSE ODG.
Ellis Bevan-Powell is the band’s mastermind, aged only 13 he has a knowledge and enthusiasm way beyond his years and has been playing guitar since the age of 3. With the help of staff at Warwickshire County Music Services Ellis has put Tan.Trum together and in the last 18 months they’ve gone from playing school halls to pub gigs and selling out one of the UK’s leading indie-venues, The Vault. Now a bigger stage awaits at the LG.
Andy Walker, who works for Warwickshire County Music service (CMS), as a guitar teacher and band coach, said: “Tam.Trum are representing Warwickshire at the OMG live event at the LG arena next month.
“The organisers came to me asking if I could recommend any young bands and I couldn’t think of anyone more dedicated and experienced than Tan.Trum - that’s a ridiculous statement, their average age is 12!”
He said they are busy preparing their set for LG.
“They’re a lot of fun to work with and it’s awesome to see their hard work paying of,” added Andy.
Tickets are now on sale from www.omglive.co.uk for the gig on April 24.
