Indie rock favourites the Subways have announced they’re playing in Vault, Rugby on Thursday May 30.

The band have amassed an army of cult followers in the UK and around Europe since they released their debut album Young for Eternity in 2005. The band are now main stage favourites at the Reading and Leeds Festival after consistently filling the second stage tent beyond capacity.

Their first album, Young for Eternity, was produced by Lightning Seeds frontman Ian Broudie, with their debut single “Oh Yeah” reaching number 25 in the UK singles chart.

They have supported the Foo Fighters, appeared on David Letterman’s US chat show and counted John Peel among their fans.

By March 2008, The Subways had cemented places at the Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park, Download Festival, Oxegen Festival and Reading and Leeds Festivals.

They also played Australia’s Soundwave festival tour in February and March and supported AC/DC at Wembley Stadium and Hampden Park on the June 30.

In 2009, the band played at the biggest open-air festival in Europe - Przystanek Woodstock in Poland, which attracts 400,000 to 500,000 rock fans every year. They headlined the 2000 Trees Festival in Gloucestershire in 2010 and have headlined the Y - Not Festival in Derbyshire.InFebruary 2013, the band announced that they had started rehearsing for their fourth album.
