Some of Rugby’s best artists will have their work on show at the town’s Art Gallery and Museum at a major annual exhibition from this weekend.
Rugby & District Art Society’s autumn awards exhibition opens on Saturday at the Floor One Gallery. The society has 120 members, with a range of styles and mediums on show – and the most popular winning awards. Its members’ skills include painting, sculpting, printmaking and ceramics.
The exhibition is the latest event in a busy year for the society, which meets on the first Wednesday of the month at Dunchurch Village Hall. It has added to its programme of presentations with a batik workshop and costume life drawing sessions.
At its next meeting on Wednesday December 2, the society welcomes Anthony Slinn for its Christmas Special lecture, which will be about will be talking about the work and legacy of the French Impressionists.
The Floor One exhibitionruns until Tuesday December 10.
It is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Admission is free.
