Many of Rugby’s best artists will be displaying their work at the town’s Art Gallery and Museum from Saturday.

The 13th annual exhibition of Rugby Artists’ Group will be held in the Floor One gallery until Thursday October 29.

Members’ work of all disciplines will be on show, with about 50 works being on display. Artworks range from paintings in all media to sculptures, ceramics and textiles. The exhibition includes work by both new members, and those who have been with the group since it formed in 2003.

Group member Michaela McMillan said: “This showcase exhibition is a great chance to see some of the fantastic creativity there is in the local Rugby area.”

Rugby Artist Group provides support and development opportunities for local artists. The lively group runs activities including gallery talks, studio visits, exhibitions and reviews. Members organise monthly creative drop-in sessions at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, which are open to all.

Many of the exhibiting artists will be manning the exhibition during the two-week period. Among those exhibiting are Eric Gaskell and Heather Koumi, who were selected for the Rugby Open, themed around the Rugby World Cup. The exhibition is currently on in the main gallery.

Many of the works in Rugby Artist Group’s exhibitions are for sale. The gallery opening hours are Tuesday 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and Saturday 10am 4pm.

The gallery is closed on Mondays.
