Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates
Rugby Theatre
Review by Leasa Hunt

Rugby Theatre impressed as always - this our third year taking our children to the local theatre for the panto, and it’s become an annual event to look forward to.

The characters were brilliantly cast and the dancers were excellent. The audience interaction was hilarious.

We went on a journey with Robinson, Cissie and his brother Billy as they set sail to find the buried treasure that Robinson had been given the map for. As with all classic pantos it was not plain sailing for the Crusoe family and danger lay ahead of them including wicked Blackbeard and the antics of Cockle & Muscle.

The Crusoe family got to meet the Queen of Skull Island and local native Friday.

Of course there is always a Fairy and this it was Gladys - she was an ex yellow coat with her favourite saying of Hi-De-Hi

Of course we all had a favourite characters but Maizey particularly enjoyed the troublesome twosome Cockle & Mussel and Jayme preferred Blackbeard.

Well done Rugby Theatre – a very enjoyable evening for all the family!
